Week In Review 12: Jumping Back In
I'm back at it again with a round-up of everything I've seen, tested and worn this week.
I paused my Week In Review series for the last six weeks in an effort to refocus and refresh my approach to this franchise. After a month and a half of recharging and refining, I’m back with another edition. Rather than writing these in the middle of the week as I had been doing before, these will appear on Fridays; upon reflection, a recap does seem to make more sense near the end of the week….
The format and what I cover will remain the same. This will be a hub to check out what I saw, what I wore, what I tried and so on and so forth. There will be product recommendations, links to reviews and even some affiliate links1 thrown in. It’ll be fun!
Without further ado, let’s jump into this week’s Week in Review.
What I Saw
Snow Peak released a new apparel collection, and this striped cotton long sleeve caught my eye. So did this Gore-tex Rain Pullover. And these Shadow Ripstop Gather Pants. (There’s something so fun about the voluminous silhouette paired with the cinched ankle.) It’s hard to imagine an outdoor scenario where Snow Peak doesn’t fit right in, but I’ll keep you posted if I think of one. I also saw Rumpl released a new overlanding mat, Ikea released a new outdoor living collection and these leather sandals produced for TOAST by Fracap.
What I Wore

After a little sartorial slump at the start of the new year, I am once again inspired to dress with consideration and what some might even call flair. Before the rain started again I was wearing these white linen pants on repeat. I’ve been wearing a vintage, embroidered cardigan that I found in an old chest when I was cleaning out our house. (I’m linking a similar one here.) These jeans have been on rotation, too. I’ve also been pairing my beloved Hikerkind trousers with less technical pieces for a little experimental dressing.
I’ve been wearing my On Cloudsurfer 2s fairly frequently, as well as my AHNU Sequence 1.1 Sports. (You can check out the full review of the Cloudsurfer 2 here, and the AHNU kicks here.)
What I Tried

I love Kelly + Jones’ roll-on perfume oil, and found the perfect spring scent. It’s not feminine or floral, but it’s a little lighter than my winter scent. These scents are inspired by mezcal, and the fact that I’m so into them makes me laugh, given the fact that I quit drinking a year and a half ago. Maybe my olfactory system likes the nostalgia.
I also tried out Act and Acre’s Scalp Detox Oil, which smells super nice and makes my hair feel softer and cleaner.

What I’m Looking For
